Most reading advice stops at "read faster". But HSK reading is not one skill — it is four question types with four different traps, and treating them identically is how scores leak. Learn to name the type before you answer.
Type 1 — Detail questions
Spot them: 什么时候 / 在哪儿 / 多少 / 谁 — asking for a fact stated in the passage.
Attack: anchor-scan. Numbers, dates and proper names are visually distinct in Chinese text — let your eyes jump to them, then read the surrounding sentence.
the passage mentions numbers or dates, and the wrong choice quotes the one that answers a different question. Always verify the anchor's sentence actually addresses what was asked.
